Susan writes about an upcoming career fair and a PostDoc recruitment initiative in the Washington DC area. It is interesting to note that the organizers would like to train the PostDocs and scientists to be CEOs?.
The Washington region is chock full of brainy researchers who come into town for a handful of years to put their knowledge to use during a fellowship at a federal lab, developing innovative intellectual property or possible cures for wicked diseases. But then they leave, taking their brainy ideas and their economy-boosting talent with them.
"PostDocs!!!" are young scientists with a PhD from any of the following fields, such as science, maths, commerce, arts & other disciplines?. Ever since the very first few postDocs were recruited (hired) at Johns Hopkins University in 1876, postdoctoral positions became integral part of research labs as well as an important step for career advancement for PhD degree holders in Science, especially Biological. PostDoc job was not at all necessary then but is an absolute necessity now
